Three formats for different birthday group sizes
1. Detective Room Special, up to 10 kids
Our one-of-a-kind format: the Detective Room Kids Special for 5 to 10 kids (aged 10-14). It makes Escape Leipzig the only centre in the region where half a school class (10 kids) can play together in ONE room instead of being split into two sub-groups. Child-friendly briefing, detective puzzles pitched at the right age.

2. Zauberschule Special, small birthday group of 4-8 kids
The alternative format with Harry's School of Magic for a closer circle of friends. 60 minutes of playing time in a magical setting, followed by the winners' photo.

3. Combo Mode, big class birthday for up to 26 kids
If the whole class or the wider circle of friends is coming along: we combine both Kids Specials with a VR escape room, all starting at the same time. That way up to 26 kids can play in one single run. It works particularly well for class birthdays in years 5 to 8.

What the kids take away
A birthday party in an escape room is more than entertainment. The kids get something an indoor playground or a bowling alley can't offer:

Frequently asked questions about children's birthday parties
From what age can kids celebrate their birthday with you?
Our Kids Specials in the Detective Room and the Magic Room are designed for kids aged 10 to 14, with age-appropriate puzzles that challenge without overwhelming. Younger children from 8 can join in when an adult comes along, although the puzzles are then often too hard for them to solve on their own.
How many kids can take part in the birthday?
In the Kids Special Detective Room 5 to 10 kids per room (1 supervising adult free of charge). In the Magic Room 4 to 8 kids. For bigger class birthdays we combine both Kids Specials with a VR escape room, all starting at the same time. That way up to 26 kids can play at once. That makes Escape Leipzig the biggest centre in the region for large-group children's birthday parties.
Do parents or a supervising adult have to be there?
For groups of children under 16 a supervising adult is required, and with us that person is free of charge. They're in the room with the group and only step in when needed, but the kids usually solve the puzzles themselves, which is often cooler for them.
What does a children's birthday party cost?
From 33 € per child: in the Kids Special, 5 kids in the Detective Room cost 175 € and 4 kids in the Magic Room 156 € in total, from 6 kids it's 33 € per child. One supervising adult comes along free of charge. For big class birthdays in Combo Mode it's 33 € per child. Gift tip: vouchers are a nice alternative to the classic birthday present, you'll find them in the online shop or at reception.
Can we bring a birthday cake or snacks?
In the entrance and waiting area you can cut a cake quickly or have a few snacks, we've got a small table and a couple of chairs for that. The area isn't built for a long celebration with people staying on, presents being unwrapped or a proper cake table. For that we'd recommend the cafés 1-2 minutes' walk away at the Marktplatz, or our Escape & Eat partner restaurants (a free soft drink with every main course).
How long does a children's birthday party take with you?
The escape room block runs for about 80 minutes (15 min child-friendly briefing + 60 min playing time + photo and debrief). All in all, plan about 1.5-2 hours with us. For the celebration afterwards with cake and presents, a café or restaurant in the city centre is the best bet.
How much lead time do we need for the booking?
Standard bookings work online straight away through the overview of all available slots. For weekend slots (especially Saturday afternoons at peak times) we'd recommend 1-2 weeks' lead time. Cancellations are free up to 48 hours before the slot.
