Are your rooms air conditioned?
What is this "fun guarantee"?
If, against all expectations, you're not enjoying yourselves, you can stop after 10 minutes and leave without paying. Paid with a voucher, or already redeemed one? No problem, we'll refund your money if you'd like and we can't find an alternative together.
Do you have flyers?
Yes! You're welcome to pick one up here (there's a flyer box just outside the entrance), or you can download the flyer here!
Which slots are still available? Is there an overview?
Bookings more than 72 hours (3 days) in advance:
You want one particular slot, you've already tried “Book a slot” and almost everything is booked up?
Maybe the overview of all slots here will help?
Bookings less than 72 hours (3 days) in advance:
If you have a very short-notice request for a slot, you can try your luck here.
What happens if we can't solve the puzzles?
No worries! Our puzzles are demanding, but every one of them is solvable and has been tested thoroughly. Of course we'll help you along with hints if the game stalls for a moment. If you don't make it in time, we'll gladly take a few more minutes afterwards to explain the puzzles to you.
Aren't I too old or too young for this?
You can never be too old for fun and a bit of joy, can you? 😉 What we offer is aimed at grown-ups who've kept their curiosity, or who want to rediscover the child in themselves. And we're just as glad to welcome younger visitors with a good nose for clues who want to crack a tricky puzzle. The exact rules on supervision for our young guests under 16 are set out separately with each offer.
Are children's birthday parties possible too?
Yes, and for that we recommend our escape room Kids Special or our VR adventure worlds for kids, designed for groups of children between 10 and 14. A supervising adult has to be there for the whole visit.
The escape room in the Kids Special works well for up to 10 children. We adapt the room so that they can manage most of the puzzles on their own. Now and then the supervising adult may still need to lend a hand.
The adventures for kids in our VR adventure worlds can be done entirely by the children themselves, guided by our game masters. The VR adventure worlds have room for up to 8 children on 4 VR headsets, and they swap between watching and playing at regular intervals.
Tip: mix the age groups if you can. That's how a good team dynamic develops, and the players benefit from each other's strengths. A rough guide: one slightly older person per younger team member.
We're a school class, a charity or a social institution. Are there special rates?
Yes. Beyond the team building side of our escape games, we want to give something back, so we grant a 5€ discount per person for the following groups: school classes, registered charities and social institutions. Supervising adults also get in free.
What's the best number of players?
The rooms at Escape Leipzig can be played by teams of two to six, or eight. In our experience 4 to 6 players per room is ideal to really feel a good team dynamic. Two committed escapers can crack the rooms just as well, of course.
Our rooms can be combined with each other, so larger groups (team events and company events, for example) can play here too. In that case you play alongside each other in “Combo Mode”: you start at the same time and each team has 60 minutes. For large groups we can block several slots back to back and play the escape rooms in two or more rounds.
Is Escape Leipzig creepy or frightening?
Our rooms are built to thrill you, to be fun and to let you leave everyday life behind for a while. Fear and real unease are the last thing we're aiming for. Special rooms or certain “specials” are of course flagged up separately and explicitly (the Medieval Room, for example, is a little darker).
Our players are of course never really locked in and could leave the game at any time. We've never actually seen that happen. On top of that, our groups are watched and listened to by experienced game masters, which adds safety and gives you someone to turn to.
We want to play with more people than one room allows. Is that possible?
A great game with more than 6 or 8 people is absolutely possible. A large group of up to 38 people can simply book the rooms in Combo Mode, so the teams start at the same time and compete against each other. The rule should be clear: whoever escapes first wins! More about Combo Mode here.
For even bigger groups there's also the option of playing the rooms one after the other. Just ask us and we'll work out something that fits.
Can I change the number of people later on? What about the price?
Basic rule: you only pay for the people who actually turn up on the day. You can of course adjust the number of people later on, within the capacity of the room, if a team member falls ill or friends decide to join you on the spur of the moment.
The exception is Combo Mode, where the minimum number of people in that booking applies, because we block extra rooms for it that other players then can't use. In that case there are several options:
- you correct the number of players in good time (that is, at least 48 hours before the slot), so a planned room can be released again
- you play the rooms you booked and pay the agreed amount
- …or you find stand-ins to reach the booked number after all.
As a general rule: for short-notice cancellations (less than 48 hours before the slot) there's a cancellation fee of 75 € per room.
Is the game an IQ test?
No. We do set the bar a little high and the success rate isn't 100%, but that doesn't mean anyone is left out. What counts here is the fun and living the story and the atmosphere together as a team. The whole group is needed, not an individual IQ, a hero or a lone wolf, which is why the minimum is 2 players. If you get stuck, our game masters, who watch the game on camera the whole time, will give you a hint.
What do other people say who've already played?
The “live escape game” idea thrives on recommendations, without giving away the secrets and mysteries around the rooms. Have a look at the reviews on Google, TripAdvisor or Facebook to get a realistic picture of what we offer beforehand. And we're always glad to get your own review or recommendation on these and other sites.
In 2020 and 2021 our locations in Nienburg and Leipzig were each given TripAdvisor's “Travelers’ Choice” award!
Is Escape Leipzig accessible? Is it something for people with severe disabilities?
Sadly not. The building is listed, so we can't adapt it to give everyone access. The clear width of the lift door is 64.50 cm (a standard wheelchair is about 66 cm), which means it only works if the wheelchair is 63 cm wide or narrower. Alternatively the wheelchair can be carried up to the second floor. From there it's just a few steps, and in the classic escape rooms almost everyone can join in with the puzzles.
In our view the VR escape rooms are only partly workable for people with disabilities, and we wouldn't recommend them.
In the VR adventure worlds it may be possible to play suitable titles, depending on the disability. That does depend a lot on how severe the limitation is. If you can barely move, don't expect too much and better go for the classic escape rooms instead.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO GUARANTEE FOR THE LIFT. IT CAN BREAK DOWN AT ANY TIME
Which payment methods are there?
With us it's: book online in comfort, pay at the venue, whether cash on the day, debit card, PayPal or credit card.
If you haven't settled on a date yet, or you'd really rather pay in advance, you can also buy a value voucher and then pay with the voucher code.
Can I buy vouchers?
Of course! You can buy an escape room voucher or a VR arcade voucher quite easily online. If you pay online, you can print the voucher yourself straight afterwards; if you pay by bank transfer, it comes once your payment has arrived. We can also post it to you for 12 €.
By arrangement (email or contact form) you can also pick a voucher up here in person.
How do I book?

Slots can be booked online up to 72 hours before the start time.
If you've decided at short notice, you can try your luck with our request for short-notice bookings.

How do you become part of the Escape team?
Even though we've no job ads open at the moment, a speculative application for one of the sought-after posts as an escape room & VR game master is well worth it. We're always glad to see good applications and interesting people!
Please send us your CV and a convincing covering letter telling us which of your strengths would enrich our team. We're looking forward to it!
Cancellation
Cancelling up to 48 hours before your slot is free of charge. You can cancel via the link in your booking confirmation, by email or through the contact form, but not by phone.
If you cancel less than 48 hours before the slot, a cancellation fee of 75 € per room applies. The same goes for moving your booking to another date at such short notice. Up to 48 hours before, you can rebook free of charge via the link in your booking confirmation.
If fewer people turn up than the minimum number of players set for a booking, a room has to be cancelled by email. Alternatively you can play the rooms you booked with fewer people, but you'll pay for the minimum number of players in the booking.
